Start with the complete round cost
Published green fees vary by date, time, season and booking channel. A quoted rate might or might not include a cart, caddie, rental clubs or tax. Ask for a total price in writing for your specific playing date and number of golfers, with each inclusion identified.
Travel expenses add up
A golf bag may change airport transfer needs, rideshare capacity or airline baggage fees. Multiple players sharing clubs might not work with different tee times. Factor in the hotel location and whether you need a van, more than one vehicle or a course-provided transport option.
Premium golf has special terms
A premium course can have required caddie service, eligibility restrictions or booking windows that differ from public courses. Avoid promising one all-inclusive price until the course supplies it. For group events, check deposits, minimum spends and final player counts.
Separate trip budget from golf budget
For a weekend with restaurants and shows, distinguish total spend per person from the amount the group is comfortable spending on golf. A clear target budget lets a concierge choose a sensible course mix without overselling the trip.
Build a comparable quote
- Green fee and whether cart use is included.
- Rental clubs, required caddie or gratuity expectations, where applicable.
- Round-trip transportation, baggage capacity and pickup conditions.
- Applicable tax, deposits, cancellation deadlines and potential planning fees.
Budget for the whole weekend, not just the first round
When comparing two courses, keep the hotel and ground-transport assumptions consistent. A less expensive green fee may offer less value after a long transfer or extra equipment charges. Ask the supplier to confirm inclusions for the specific date before comparing totals.
