Our starting recommendation
Start by comparing spring and fall dates if comfortable golf weather is your priority. The National Weather Service describes these seasons as generally favorable outside wind, while noting sharp temperature changes. This is seasonal guidance, not a forecast for your travel dates.
Spring: flexible layers and wind awareness
Plan for changing temperatures and wind rather than assuming every spring day will be mild. A morning layer and a wind-resistant outer layer make sense. Keep an eye on the course forecast and adjust tee choice when wind makes carries harder.
Summer: build the day around the heat
Las Vegas summers can exceed 100°F. An early start helps reduce exposure to the hottest part of the day, but is not a guarantee of safe conditions. Check the actual forecast and heat alerts; bring water and sun protection, and reconsider play during dangerous heat. Summer thunderstorms can also interrupt golf. Follow course instructions on lightning and closures.
Fall: ask about overseeding and reopening
Autumn can be appealing, but maintenance calendars vary by course. Ask whether your date falls during overseeding, closure, restricted cart use or the recovery period after reopening. Do not assume all valley courses share the same schedule or surface conditions.
Winter: daylight is part of the booking
Cold mornings and shorter days change what fits. Ask about frost-delay risk and book with enough daylight for the full round. A later start can be more comfortable but leaves less margin; do not rely on finishing an afternoon round after sunset.
The final check
Once flights and hotel dates are set, check the local forecast, club maintenance notices, tee-time terms and sunset time. Temperature at the airport is not an exact prediction for every course, especially at different elevations. Keep one flexible activity in the itinerary if conditions change.
